We have amended our Schedule of Fees and Charges, effective 1st October 2024. The updated Schedule of Fees and Charges can be found here and at your local branch.
When a loved one passes away, it can be a very difficult time. SWSbank will handle your loved one's estate with respect and empathy.
If the deceased has individual accounts with SWSbank, we will place a freeze on the account/s when we are advised of their passing, to stop any unauthorised access. Any third party authorities on the account will cease (this includes Powers of Attorney).
If the deceased has joint accounts, these can be operated on as normal (if the account is anyone to sign). Two to sign or all to sign accounts will need to speak to our Deceased Estates team to be advised of the next steps.
Step 1: Notify us.
As soon as you can, please contact SWSbank to make us aware of your loved one's passing. You can do this by calling us or visiting a branch.
Step 2: Determine requirements.
See below scenarios. You can contact us if you are unsure of your situation.
Step 3: Complete and sign documents.
Obtain and sign required documents and return to us:
